I went to sleep at the Vet’s office and I woke up a ConeHead! What happened? Mommy told someone I got “fixed”. What does that mean? What needed fixing? I’m nice to everyone. I like all other dogs, even if they ignore me or bark at me. I like everyone I meet. I let the cat eat my food and I just sit back and watch him. I think I’m a pretty nice little fellow so what did I do that needed fixing?
I heard Mommy say I’ve got to wear this cone for two weeks. I’m not sure exactly what that means but I can tell you each minute is a problem for me.
Some of the folks I know from my walks call me Happy because that’s what I always am. Do I look happy now?
Look at me! I finally caught a Bird! Of course I’d still like to catch a little bird but I’m pretty excited about this one! When I first came to Atlanta I found Birds like this very scary. Well, to be honest, I still think they are scary, but I don’t chase after them anymore. People ride really fast on the sidewalk where I take my walks. But now look at this. I think the Bird is dead. I’m checking it out but it’s a little disappointing — it’s not edible!
Don’t you just love when people litter? Picking up trash is such fun! Mommy doesn’t seem too thrilled when I pick up trash, but she did let me carry this cup I found. I carried it a full block, only dropping it twice, but she gave me time to pick it up again. We went to a trash can and I dropped it. I turned around and it was gone. Did Mommy put it in the big bin? Oh well, there’s always more where that came from!
Love from Cooper!
Just a quick note from Mommy:
STOP LITTERING! There are trash cans all over the area, emptied regularly, so please use them!
When I first came home I told you about the long, black thing in our house that Mommy says is a cat named Whiskers. Whiskers let me know right away he is “The King” and I should just refer to him as King. The King spent 2 weeks hissing and batting at me. I follow him around and he turns, hisses and then chases me away. Is he playing? Is he mad? I don’t understand the noise he’s making. He might be speaking a foreign language. He’s definitely not barking!
I just got big enough to jump on the couch! It was a real accomplishment for me. I tried and tried but never could make it, until now. The problem is The King is on the couch a lot (he’s very lazy!). Would he let me up there with him?
Turns out I’m safe as long as I hug the side. I can do that! Look at me on the couch!
The shoes are all in the wrong place. It appears it’s up to me to rectify the situation. This is a lot of work. I can only take one shoe at a time.
I found this tall shoe organizer filled with shoes, many of them at just my height. I decided to spread them out with a few in each room. Little did I know Mommy would pick them up and put them back in the organizer. What’s with that? I had some in the living room, some in the kitchen, and the slippers in the bathroom. Sometimes Mommy picks them up and now there are shoes on the kitchen table (yuk!), on top of the printer, and on the bathroom counter. I work at this everyday to keep them out of the organizer.
So many shoes, so little time.
Love from Cooper!
P.S. Mommy was trying to teach me how to add music to my video but she’s not very skilled. She said we could add the beginning of Superfly to my video on iMovie and it should be easy peasy. It wasn’t! I think I have to get a better computer teacher!
My PetSmart Puppy Training class was postponed so with my extra time I thought I’d do a little reading. Now I just have to decide on a book. What should I read? Do I go with a cookbook, check out a book on St. Louis, or read about collectibles? As you can see I finally decided to pull out the Atlanta Dining Guide. I assume this is a doggie dining guide because what other kind would there be? Now I’ll just have to decide on a restaurant!
This is my first Easter and I didn’t know what to expect. It turns out bunnies are involved! I like bunnies, but do you know how huge the bunny is at PetSmart? I’ve never seen such a big bunny. The Easter Bunny took pictures with all her furry friends. Check us out! We’re pretty cute together.
What is over this huge ledge? I’ve reached the edge of the world. Mommy is standing lower than me. I think she’s dropping into the abyss. I can’t go over the ledge, I won’t. Let me just lay down. I won’t move. Not for anything. Not for treats. Not for the clicker. I’m not moving.
People are going by. Some are stopping and saying, “You can do it, Cooper!” I will not move. Look at that ledge. Mommy is saying silly things. She says the earth isn’t flat. She’s asking if I’m a member of the Flat Earth Society. I’m not a member of anything, but if there is a Flat Earth Society I think I’ll join. I bet they don’t go down steps.
Mommy keeps trying. She dangles the treat but I only get it if I go over the ledge. I’m NOT moving. After a half an hour she finally gives up and says we’ll try again tomorrow. She picks me up and carries me down the stairs. Success! Today it is good I’m not a German Shepherd!
Love from Cooper!
P.S. Mommy and I went back to the stairs again the next day. Do you know how easy it is to go down stairs. I’m a pro at it. I guess the world isn’t flat!
Mommy and I went to the dog park today. I love running around without my leash. I can chase leaves and pick up sticks, you know, all the good stuff. But, what’s with the fence?
Look at my friend’s on the other side of the fence. The brown one is a puppy just like me. He’s only 8 months old. They both wanted to play with me, but I’m on the other side of the fence. We ran back and forth for a few minutes. That was fun but then they ran to the middle of the park. Mommy says they’re in the “big dog park” and we’re on the “little dog” side. What’s with that? I can run fast and keep up with them. I’m sure of it. There aren’t any other dogs on the “little dog” side. Again, should have been a German Shepherd!
Gotta go, but come back again because Mommy says now that I can go up the stairs I am going to learn to go down. We’ll see about that.
Oh what a day I had today! So many things to tell you about. Mommy took me outside to take care of my business, the peeing and pooing stuff she doesn’t like in the house. Now that’s fine, but then we walk over to the National Center for Civil and Human Rights and what do I find? A huge set of stairs. Stairs! I have never gone up stairs before and I have no intention of doing it now, but Mommy just starts walking up thinking I’m going to follow her. I’m not! Oh goodness she has treats for me, but she’s holding them on the third step. How do I get that treat? First stair, second stair, treat. Yes, I can do that. Turns out I can run up stairs. Mommy needs to go faster to keep up.
So if the stairs weren’t enough for one day I now am going to the Vet. Sensing something might be up I don’t just walk in the door like this is going to be a great place. No, I stop outside and sit down. Maybe if I just stay sitting we won’t go in. Didn’t work. I’m only six pounds so Mommy picks me up and carries me in. I should have been a German Shepherd.
The Vet was very nice to me. She gave me Cheez Whiz! Have you ever had Cheez Whiz? That is some good stuff. Two vet techs were in the room holding me while I got a rabies shot and another shot. As long as that Cheez Whiz kept coming I didn’t really care what they were doing. Plus the whole group was singing and dancing, doing a special puppy song while they did some other tests. Silly, silly, ladies. The whole visit was kind of fun!
Keep checking back with me because every day is a new adventure!
